Woodcrest School transitions students from concrete thinkers to abstract thinkers. The Middle School for grades 6-8 encourages social skill development and moves the student’s academic accomplishment to a higher level. During these developmental years, students are provided with structure and tools designed to foster growth and success. The Middle School provides a traditional college preparatory program with an academic emphasis on the core curriculum, STEAM and electives.
There is specific emphasis on students learning through investigation, research, and real-life connections that can be made in all subject areas. This emphasis helps students gain a solid understanding of the subject matter being studied. At the same time, students learn important study skills such as summarizing reading, note taking, material organization, analytical thinking and writing, and studying for periodic tests and exams.

Our Program
At Woodcrest our nurturing teachers help provide a gentle landing from lower school to upper school. the middle school offers a robust academic progam that is rooted in tradition and includes project based learning and steam. Our small class learning envrionment offers support and guidance to help each and every student reach their potential.
Woodcrest’s program is a launching pad for 21 century skill building. Students learn how to use technology in presentations, work collaboratively to solve a problem, incorporate media to capture attention, and ommunicate in a way to campture interest.
Our school day is well rounded by providing electives in aeras of interest that may turn into a life long passion.
Students meet up in the morning to discuss moods, understand where others in the class are coming from, and skills to overcome obstacles. Woodcrest uses Standord Harmony as a tool to bring this learning to life.
